Multiplayer game development services
Make online play part of the game’s design from the start. Ingenii develops multiplayer gameplay and backend integrations, including Unity and Nakama projects, with attention to how the game behaves across real connections.
Decide what each system controls
A multiplayer architecture needs clear responsibility for game rules, shared state and player actions. We review the game loop, match length, number of players and latency sensitivity before proposing how the client and backend should work together. Different genres need different synchronization decisions.
Build the full path into a match
Online play includes the experience before and after gameplay: player identity, session creation, joining a match, leaving it and handling interruptions. We scope those flows alongside the core mechanics so a prototype can exercise the complete journey rather than just two clients moving in a scene.
Test failure conditions as well as normal play
Latency, disconnections and inconsistent state can change how a game feels. We test agreed scenarios and record the behaviour expected when a player drops or a request fails. Hosting, monitoring and load testing requirements are discussed separately so the production plan matches the intended launch.
What we can help deliver
- Networking and state synchronization
- Match and player-session flows
- Nakama and game-backend integration
- Connection handling and multiplayer debugging
Work directly with the builders
We agree on scope, responsibilities and review milestones before production. You work with the people building the project and review playable progress as it develops.

Questions about multiplayer game development
Can you add multiplayer to an existing game?
Often, but it depends on how the game currently handles state and rules. We review the codebase and identify what must change before estimating the integration.
Do you use Nakama?
Yes. Sky 8 Ball Pool is a Unity and Nakama multiplayer project in our portfolio. We choose backend and networking tools around the requirements of each game.
Can you guarantee a particular player capacity?
Capacity needs an agreed architecture, infrastructure budget and measured load tests. We define the test conditions and targets with you rather than promise an untested concurrency number.
